A Hot, Dry Summer

This has been a HOT, DRY summer! It hasn't rained in I don't know how long! Our lakes are drying up and the farmers are having a miserable time. It is clouding up outside! Please God open the skies and let it rain!! The wildfires have been bad this year. It seems there is at least one fire a day! I have never seen anything like it!

We opened our own business! My Favorite Place has been a good move for us! We have been blessed so much! God is good! It has been a really good move for us!!!

So Many Changes

There have been so many changes since I last posted. My stepdad fought a quick battle with cancer. Then we lost Howard this year. It has been such a trying time the past few months. But God is my guide and I trust Him completely!!
I am trying to get raw again for health reasons. Pray I make this life change!!

A Turning Point in My Life

I have come to a turning point in my life. Where to go and what to do now?

A Sporadic Blog Poster

I laugh at how sporadic my posts are. How funny! Well...more life changes since I last posted. Back In Motion Chiropractic built a brand new building and opened a Day/Med spa. I get to manage it! Right up my alley! It has been one wild ride! I have the best staff! Katie has been with me since day one! She is awesome! She is a licensed massage therapist. She is a natural beauty and has the best personality. I love working with her. Suzanne is our part time massage therapist. She is such a treasure! She is beautiful and shines bright! She is so positive and a joy to be around! She keeps us laughing. Then there is Ashley. She literally fell out of the sky! We were looking for a full time esthetician and she called. She moved to Big Spring from Dallas and looked us up in the phone book and called to see if we needed an esthetician. We were overjoyed! And she has been a blessing from day one! All three girls are such hard workers! They go out of their ways to help! We have an awesome team!

Raw Food Journey

I am starting a video journal of my journey into raw foods. I am pretty camera shy but thought I would just do it! Like the Nike logo! =) I have tried going 100 % raw with no luck. I successfully was raw for 3 weeks. I felt awesome! Then I had a bad tooth and then the flu. YUK! I was weak! I was human! I ate cooked food! Lots of it!! I turned to my comfort foods in my time of illness. Waaahh! And now I feel aweful! I feel heavy, sluggish and like a failure!

But I am pulling myself up by my bootstraps and getting back on that horse. I have alot of motivating blogs to read! These are what actually help me want to give it another try and get serious about it. I am going to post occasional videos to make myself accountable. I will take all the encouraging words I can get. My first goal is to be 100% raw by my 40th birthday in November. I decided instead of going 100% to take little steps. I know some have been able to go 100% raw over night and I think that is awesome! But for some reason I struggle with that. But that is what all my new friends at http://www.giveittomeraw.com/ and http://www.welikeitraw.com/ are for!

Running

Wow! It's been a really long time since I wrote in here. It's funny reading back on my previous posts. Well I no longer work for Warren Chiropractic as of June 2007. I now work for Back in Motion Chiropractic. Two of the chiropractors I worked for at Warren's decided to open their own clinic. So...Mary and I went with. It has been an adventure.
I have started running again. I am enjoying it. I expect too much of myself though. I did my first 5k 07/07/07. It was pretty fun. I really enjoyed it. I got 2nd place in my age group! That was a pleasant suprise. We were just glad to finish. When the announced the winners they didn't call our names. We were ok with that. We did it and had fun. Then a couple of days later they called two of us from our posse and said they had an error in the count and we had won in our age division. We were really pumped then. They mailed us our medals. Pretty cool! I wore mine for a day.
I have decided to make this blog about my running. I am new at it and love it. I really enjoy it and look forward to learning more. Well...it's late and I'm getting tired. I will write more later.
Thanks for letting me share a part of my world. Adios.

New Job!

I started a new job last week. I no longer work with my sister, Amy. I am now a tech at Warren Chiropractic. I love it. It is a fun place to work. Everyone is so nice and it is a real positive environment. Plus, I get to incorporate my massage therapy into it.
I work with another Amy. She is very animated when she talks. She is a hoot to be around. She has a very lively personality.
At the end of my first day, I was EXHAUSTED! I went from sitting behind a desk all day to being on my feet all day. By the end of the week I was feeling alot better and not so tired.
Since I last wrote, my cousin, Samantha, had a baby boy. 8 pounds 10 oz. and 20 inches long, Landon Wright. He is so cute. My sister, Teresa, got a job she loves. She is working as a receptionist for a hotel's corporate office. I don't remember which hotel. LOL But she loves it!!
I gave my notice with the bus barn last week. It was sad but to work at Warren's I have to quit my bus driving. I am going to miss the kids and all the other driver's. And Howard is the best boss I've ever had. He is an all around nice person.
Oh yeah! I took State Boards in January and passed! Woohoo!! I am now a registered massage therapist. (patting myself on the back)
Well, I better get busy and get some stuff done. Times a wasting!
